SIES
HIGH SCHOOL,
K.A. SUBRAMANIAM ROAD, MATUNGA, MUMBAI 400 019.
The
S.I.E.S. High School was started in 1932 as a primary school
with only six students. Today it has grown into a premier
institution in the city, having 4,500 students on its rolls.
The school enjoys a very high reputation for its dedicated
teachers, exacting academic standards and discipline. In the
past seven decades or so, more than 25,000 students have passed
out of the portals of the school. Many of its alumni have
distinguished themselves as lawyers, doctors, engineers, administrators,
top company executives and scientists, not only within the
country, but also abroad.
The
South Indian Education Society celebrated its Diamond Jubilee
during the year 1991-92. The Celebrations were inaugurated
by Shri C. Subramaniam, the then Governor of Maharashtra,
on 28 April 1991.
OUR AIM
To be a part of the “New World Order”, a widening
of the horizon is required. The various courses of SIES lay
the foundation for this by continuous updating and upgrading
of its various programmes.
The
South Indian Education Society stands for EXCELLENCE.
EXCELLENCE can be achieved only by observing discipline, as
Mahatma Gandhi once said “Mass discipline is an essential
condition for the people who aspire to be a great nation”.
The institution believes in that and tries to achieve the
same.
Keeping in view the growing demand for the study in the stream
of Commerce, the SIES College of Commerce and Economics was
established by the Society in May 1989. The then Vice-President
Dr. S.D.Sharma inaugurated the College. Right from its inception
the College has grown from strength to strength as the results
testify from year to year. The pursuit of excellence has added
to our academic stature and the College is one among the leading
educational institutions in Mumbai.
